The Escort 9500ci is the completely undetectable radar detector. Its twin-antenna design is perfect for those who like to run unnoticed. With features like the twin-antenna GPS and Auto-Sensitivity mode that fluctuates the radar sensitivity based on your vehicles speed. The 360-degree protection, defends you from radar like no other.

During the design process our sales and fabrication team determined which features are wants and which are must-haves, and then we design a system within those constraints. Once we have met with the customer to determine the right system for his driving style, the area the car will spend the most time in, and the overall functionality and style, we suggest product with a certain prestige. In this case, the best selection for the owner was the Escort 9500ci, fully-installed Radar and Laser Shifting system, with the addition of an upgraded control and display installation.

The installation starts with a 25-item vehicle evaluation to determine that all vehicle systems are in working order and discussed with the customer before the car enters the installation bay. Once in the bay, the vehicles front end and fenders are taped off to insure no scuffs or damage is done to the paintwork. We use premium, auto body 3M masking to protect the panels.

We don’t neglect the interior. We make sure to address the seats and the floors before working in those areas, even if we might not be directly working on that area of the car. At Maximum Audio Video we always want to treat a car how we would like our own car to be treated.

Now that we have completed the initial vehicle evaluation and protected the interior and exterior of the car, we will start the Escort radar and laser shifter installation.

In order to access the proper installation location for the laser shifters, our team removed the entire front bumper from the car. Our two-man team removed the bumper, even though you only need one man to remove it, to ensure that proper precautions were taken. With the bumper removed it allows us full access to properly align the laser shifters. At this point we install the 360-degree radar sensor. It does not require the same amount of alignment as the laser shifters but does have its own requirements. In order to have the best possible radar coverage the radar head must not be blocked by metal.

The most unique part of this installation is the custom acrylic mounting pod that will house the controller and display for the system. It is installed into the pocket at the bottom of the dash, at the customers’ request. Our fabrication team built a custom pod out of acrylic to house both the controller and display. The custom acrylic pod was manufactured on a CNC before being painted black. We also installed a button to allow the vehicles owner to power the controller even though the factory button is not accessible.

The finished product includes a very happy customer and a factory-looking installation. The display is out of the way, but is still able to be read, and the controller is not sticking out where it looks un-natural. The vehicle owner said that it was the best job he has ever seen on a Tesla, and he’s an active forum member!
